Your first session includes a full consultation as well as an assessment of your overall posture to help understand what might be causing discomfort in a particular area. I may also carry out some functional tests to identify any restrictions and muscle imbalances.
I use a combination of deep tissue work, myofascial release, and sports massage techniques to address specific areas of tension, break down adhesions (those 'knots' we all have) and address faulty postural patterns, as well as stretching and mobilising to improve flexibility and free up stiff joints. I may also suggest some self-care exercises for you to do at home to reinforce the benefit of the treatment.
What to expect
Several treatments may be necessary, depending on the nature of the problem and how long it has been ongoing. Many of my clients find that they benefit from regular sessions - the effects are cumulative, and it also means that any potential problem areas can be identified and addressed early on before they become, quite literally, a pain.
Occasionally it may be necessary to consult your Doctor or other members of your healthcare team before commencing treatment.
