The great thing about bodywork is that you never stop learning, and I regularly attend advanced workshops to learn new skills and gain new insights. In fact I'm just back from a 3-day workshop looking at advanced myofascial techniques for treating sciatic pain, as well as other lower back, hip and pelvis issues.
I have an established practice near Pershore in Worcestershire, built up largely through word of mouth referrals, and enjoy working with clients of all ages and from all walks of life, helping them to use their body to its full potential.
I'm a big fan of Yoga, and also love being outdoors - when I'm not working, you'll often find me either walking on Bredon Hill or cycling round it!
I have been working as a Massage Therapist since 2003. After initially training in Body Massage, Sports Massage, and Indian Head Massage, I went on to obtain a Diploma in Advanced Remedial Massage from the Northern Institute of Massage in Bury, Lancashire. I am also fully qualified in Structural Bodywork, which focuses more on the Fascia - the web of connective tissue that surrounds and connects all the muscles, organs and skeletal structures of the body. However, I'm not keen on applying 'labels' to my work, and draw on all of these modalities during a typical session so that I can offer the most appropriate and effective treatment. I also incorporate elements from other traditions which I have explored over the years, including Acupressure and Zero Balancing.
I am registered and fully insured with the Federation of Holistic Therapists, the largest professional body for Holistic Therapists in the UK. I am also a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
